Multi-Engine Rating (ME)

Multi-Engine rating qualifies you to fly an aircraft with more than one engine. Professional Pilots seeking to advance in their career will have competitive advantage when applying for a job at Airline and Charter companies as most employment opportunities require experience on Multi Engine Aircraft; the Commercial Pilot Licence preparation can overlap with an Initial Multi Engine Rating Preparation.

Course Duration

3 to 4 weeks on a full time basis.

Requirements

  • The minimum requirement is a PPL with at least 70 pilot-in-command (PIC) hours.
  • Flight test with a Designated Flight Examiner (MEP and CPL tests are usually combined).

Notes

  • The initial Multi Engine conversion must be done with a suitable rated multi rated Instructor.
  • 7 hours of briefing will include theoretical flying technique and Multi Engine phraseology.
  • An Aircraft Technical exam will be completed before flying commences.
  • A minimum of 11 hours towards a conversion on the Multi Engine Aircraft with IR, 6 hours can be done on a simulator (note: Student must hold a valid IR)
